Job Title: Construction Project Leader

A construction project leader is required to drive successful project results, moving projects from preconstruction through final closeout in a safe and efficient manner.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing distribution center and/or light industrial manufacturing construction projects.

This role involves ensuring all safety compliance and quality programs are being executed on the project site, actively participating in bidding and pre-construction services, and representing the client's primary contact.

The Construction Project Leader will manage the performance of professional support personnel on the project site, maintain strict control over the budget, and ensure ongoing profitability.

This position also requires mentoring and training project engineers and assistant project managers to ensure their ongoing career growth and development.

The selected candidate will be an active member and leader within the organization, participating in committees, making recommendations for new initiatives, and embracing new policies related to safety, quality, and continuous improvement programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all safety compliance and quality programs are being executed on the project site.
  • Actively participate in bidding and pre-construction services.
  • Represent the client's primary contact.
  • Manage the performance of professional support personnel on the project site.
  • Maintain strict control over the budget.
  • Ensure ongoing profitability.
  • Mentor and train project engineers and assistant project managers.
  • Implement new ideas.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of seven years of relevant construction operations experience.
  • A bachelor degree, preferably in construction management or a related field.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%.
  • Effective communication skills to motivate your team, delegate tasks, and present proposals to clients with competence and confidence.
  • The fortitude to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
