About the Role

BallyCara, a leading aged care organisation, is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist to join our team at our Bundoora site three - four days per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Personalised Therapy Services: Provide tailored therapy services to elderly clients, focusing on enabling their participation in meaningful daily activities.
  • Collaborate with Senior Health Practitioner: Work with the Senior Health Practitioner to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of clients.
  • Assess and Address Client Needs: Conduct thorough assessments to identify the physical, cognitive, and emotional needs of clients, and develop strategies to support their independence and well-being.
  • Provide Education and Support: Educate and support clients and their families to empower them to manage their own care and make informed decisions.

Requirements
  • Relevant Qualifications: Hold relevant qualifications and registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience: Have at least 1 year of experience as a Community Occupational Therapist, preferably in a similar setting.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Passion for Elderly Care: Have a genuine passion for enhancing the quality of life for elderly individuals.
  • Autonomy and Flexibility: Be able to work autonomously in a new region.
  • Criminal History Check: Hold current national Police Check clearance or be able to obtain one through the BallyCara recruitment process.
  • COVID-19 Vaccinations: Meet COVID-19 vaccination requirements as per Government recommendations.
