Financial Accountant

Efficient Youth Care and Disability Services is a Melbourne based company providing disability and care services to clients. We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis.

Main Responsibilities:

• Accurately record and update financial transactions in accounting software or ledgers.

• Process invoices by reviewing, verifying, and ensuring proper authorization and accuracy before payment.

• Manage accounts payable by tracking and managing payments to vendors and service providers.

• Handle accounts receivable by invoicing clients and following up on overdue payments.

• Reconcile bank statements with internal records to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.

• Prepare financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

• Support budgeting by tracking variances and providing financial insights.

• Provide necessary documentation and assistance during internal and external audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

• Manage petty cash by overseeing and reconciling transactions with proper documentation.

• Assist in processing payroll by preparing and verifying time sheets for accurate employee compensation.

• Track and manage fixed assets, including recording acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.

• Prepare tax documentation and assist in filing tax returns.

• Provide financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.

• Coordinate with other departments to gather financial information, address queries, and ensure smooth financial operations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher qualification preferably in Accounting, Business, or Business Administration.

• Or at least five years of relevant experience to substitute the formal qualification.

• Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or have proper working rights in Australia.

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 Plus super. Full-time position (38 hours per week).
