We are looking for a dedicated Health and Safety Executive with nationwide oversight for operational health and safety, based out of our Brisbane Support Offices, while engaging in extensive travel to support our regional and metropolitan sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and ensure the effectiveness of the Safety Management System at all times.
- Oversee the management of all workers' compensation and rehabilitation issues in a timely manner, adhering to relevant legislation.
- Ensure thorough reporting, recording, and investigation of all accidents, incidents, near misses, and occupational diseases.
- Engage with state regulators and support RDO branches as needed.
- Provide health and safety guidance and support to all employees.
- Facilitate the established company Health and Safety committee and mentor Health and Safety Representatives in each location.
- Contribute to the development of strategies, monthly initiatives, and operational requirements.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Eligibility to work in Australia.
- Willingness to travel domestically as required across all RDO locations (approximately 25% of the time).
- Relevant WHS qualifications and a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar management role.
- In-depth knowledge of contemporary safety issues, best practices, and the statutory and regulatory framework governing workplace safety.
- Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated abilities in consultation, facilitation, negotiation, and influence, capable of engaging with senior management.
- A consultative and collaborative approach, acting as a trusted advisor.
