Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Software Engineer to join our Digital Business Solutions team at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and deploying application solutions that align with the University's business objectives and goals.

The role involves working closely with clients, vendor partners, and other IT professionals to ensure an integrated approach to solution development and maintenance. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with experience in software design and implementation, are essential for this position.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educational background equivalent to completion of a degree, with at least four years' subsequent experience in software design expertise within an IT area.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to a team as a technical expert and implementing improvement strategies that support effective response to client needs and organisational goals.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in identifying and conceptualising client requirements, and designing, developing, implementing, and deploying solutions using contemporary technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain productive and collaborative working relationships, including the ability to develop and present concepts to diverse stakeholders and negotiate with influence.
  • Proven planning and organisational skills, with experience establishing own and workflow priorities, and working across multiple initiatives within tight timelines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing, maintaining, monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting SaaS and on-premises solutions, including proficiency with continuous integration and delivery practices, and various programming languages, automation tools, and cloud technologies.
