Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to support our activities in the South West Pacific region. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering our association's agenda and promoting its policies, positions, objectives, activities, services, and products amongst airlines, governments, airports, regional organisations, and other industry stakeholders.

About the Role

  • Deliver our association's agenda in the region;
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with member airlines, IATA accredited agents, airports, and other industry stakeholders;
  • Promote our policies, positions, objectives, activities, services, and products among airlines, governments, airports, regional organisations, and other industry stakeholders;
  • Monitor aero-political, economic, and commercial developments in the country;
  • Develop an understanding of local market legislation and regulations;
  • Support commercial and business development activities by identifying commercial pipelines and market trends;
  • Assist with media relations and coordinate marketplace communications;
  • Organise events in the South West Pacific and provide assistance at local and regional industry events;
  • Support fiscal, legal, and regulatory compliance in the region;
  • Perform other duties as determined by the Area Manager, South West Pacific and/or the Industry Affairs Manager.

Requirements

  • A University degree in Business Administration, Political Science, or any other relevant discipline;
  • Minimum seven years of professional experience with at least three years in a similar role;
  • Proven experience in building relationships and managing projects;
  • Well-developed negotiation and lobbying skills, and a high level of cultural intelligence;
  • Entrepreneurial flair, with a strong sense of commercial acumen;
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of government and regulatory frameworks within the aviation sector;
  • Understanding of Airport operations and Cargo logistics;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Fluency in English is essential, whilst knowledge of French and other regional languages would be an advantage.
