Anduril Industries is a pioneering defense technology company with a mission to revolutionize U.S. and allied military capabilities with cutting-edge technology.

We are transforming the defense industry by bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of innovative companies to the forefront. Our family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-driven operating system that turns data streams into a real-time, 3D command center. As we navigate an era of strategic competition, we are committed to delivering advanced autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in record time.

At Anduril Australia, we are developing unmanned systems for various domains that leverage unsupervised autonomy for long endurance and multi-mission capabilities. These projects require Senior Site Reliability Engineers with extensive experience in modern software development, delivery, and sustainment toolchains. You will play a crucial role in architecting, designing, delivering, supporting, and evolving toolchains for next-generation autonomous systems.

  • Lead the design, implementation, and support of cloud-native software delivery toolchains that enable continuous and secure delivery of capabilities at unprecedented speeds, including during national crises and across multiple security classification domains.

  • Manage ICT systems at the operating system layer, including NixOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat, and Microsoft Windows.
  • Oversee ICT systems at the orchestration layer, utilizing OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform.
  • Manage ICT systems at the application layer, leveraging Github Enterprise, CircleCI, and proprietary applications.
  • Contribute to our Nix managed build and deployment systems.
  • Participate in the management of ICT hardware systems to a limited extent.
  • Advocate for and implement best-practice security measures within Anduril's software toolchain.
  • Collaborate as a member of a multidisciplinary software team, including mentoring Software Engineers from diverse backgrounds.

Requirements

  • Experience in a senior role for the delivery of a software and/or hardware system with a mature software delivery, security, and operations capability.
  • Experience with horizontally scaled cloud technologies and troubleshooting remotely deployed software systems.
  • Capacity to work holistically on software-enabled capabilities up and down the software stack and through its lifecycle.
  • Ability to act as the technical owner for a software service, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, team coordination, design, implementation, sustainment, and evolution.
  • Capacity to learn and grow individually while mentoring junior team members effectively, building team cohesion, and capacity.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience writing cloud-native services using C++, Rust, Python, and/or Go.
  • Familiarity with the NixOS operating system and the Nix programming language.
  • Systems and/or application programming skills, including algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and optimization.
  • Experience managing infrastructure with Terraform.
  • A strong understanding of networking, particularly in cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Knowledge and experience deploying applications with Kubernetes and maintaining Kubernetes clusters.
  • Desire to learn and grow into other roles that require experience as a Senior Software Engineer, such as Principal Software Engineer and/or Engineering Manager.
