The Role

We offer an opportunity to develop an exciting career building on fundamental skills gained during university.

Graduate engineers and geoscientists can expect a mix of field and office work supporting various clients in the mining, transportation, pipeline, energy, and community sectors.

Field work includes site investigations, construction monitoring, reporting, and data interpretation under the guidance of technical experts.

Office work involves engineering or geoscience analysis, material characterization, instrumentation data interpretation, and design contributions.

Responsibilities
  • Geotechnical investigation, assessment, design, and construction monitoring at mine sites
  • Geotechnical, engineering geology, and water resource assessments for various pipeline, transportation, community, and power projects
  • Surface and groundwater assessments for environmental baseline studies, water supply projects, and remediation works
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a relevant undergraduate degree in Civil (Geotechnical/Hydrotechnical/General) or Geological Engineering, Geoscience, Geology, Geophysics or a related field
  • 0-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent written, presentation, and oral communications
  • Proficiency using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software is an asset
  • A second language is an asset
  • A post-graduate degree is an asset

Familiarity with topics such as Soil Mechanics, Dam Design, Rock Mechanics, Hydrogeology, Hydrotechnical Engineering, Geomorphology, Geophysics, Field Mapping, and Technical Writing is an asset.

Base salary: $75,000 - $100,000 AUD per annum; bonuses, training allowances, medical and dental plans included.
