About This Opportunity

As a Procurement Category Manager, you will lead a team responsible for end-to-end procurement activities. You will work closely with key stakeholders to develop strategies that deliver departmental and government objectives and priorities while minimizing risk. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining a detailed understanding of the department's strategic direction, current demand, end-users' requirements, supply markets, and performance of sourcing strategies.
  • Leading the development of plans for significant procurements in conjunction with key stakeholders.
  • Providing on-the-job training and advice to branch staff, stakeholders, customers, government entities, and industry partners.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a good knowledge of tendering and contract management processes. You should also be able to lead the development and implementation of best practice procurement management systems, strategies, and procedures. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to mentor and guide branch staff, stakeholders, customers, government entities, and industry partners.
