Senior Clinical Specialist in Speech and Language Disorders

The role involves working closely with the ENT Clinical Lead Speech Pathologist to deliver specialized services for patients referred for assessment and management of voice, swallowing, and upper airway disorders.

This is a senior clinical position within the Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) Speech Pathology team at the Royal Hobart Hospital. The successful applicant will work in a dynamic and supportive department of approximately 25 Speech Pathologists across a range of specialist areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality clinical services to patients with complex speech and language disorders.
  • Contribute to service development and hold a leadership portfolio.
  • Mentor junior staff and students from the University of Tasmania's Master of Speech Pathology program.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in a relevant field of Speech Pathology, with competence in instrumental assessments such as VFSS, FEES, nasendoscopy, and/or videostroboscopy. They will also have a commitment to evidence-based practice and multidisciplinary collaboration, as well as leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Requirements
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in Speech Pathology.
  • Demonstrated experience in a relevant field of Speech Pathology.
  • Competence in instrumental assessments such as VFSS, FEES, nasendoscopy, and/or videostroboscopy.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
