About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled Maritime Field Engineer to join our team in Sydney, Australia. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in installing, commissioning, and servicing complex satellite, IT, and A/V systems on cruise ships, private super yachts, commercial vessels, and offshore facilities.


As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. You will install, commission, service, and support various satellite and communication systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and effectively.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maritime engineering, with experience in VSAT and TVRO systems, as well as knowledge of MEO, LEO, and GEO satellite systems. You will also possess excellent fault-finding skills and be proficient in data and voice networking, RF fault finding, and the use of test equipment such as spectrum analysers.


In addition to your technical expertise, you will be comfortable working independently in port and at sea, and must be able to travel extensively throughout Australia, Asia, and worldwide (approximately 70% of the time). Key Responsibilities

Requirements


  • ">
  • Minimum three years' experience in installing, commissioning, and fault-finding of commercial marine stabilised VSAT and TVRO systems">
  • Strong knowledge of MEO, LEO, and GEO satellite systems">
  • Excellent fault-finding skills and ability to work independently">
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout Australia, Asia, and worldwide (approximately 70% of the time)">
  • Appropriate industry or university qualifications">
  • Suitable industry certifications, such as OEM qualifications from Cobham, Intellian, and/or Orbit">
  • Knowledge of satellite TV distribution systems, Crestron automation systems, and military communications technical experience">
  • Experience in one or more of our key markets, including super yachting, cruise ships, and oil and gas">
  • Good mechanical, electrical, and other technical aptitudes to assist with installation and fault-finding work">
