Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant for our Prep class (Pre-Kindergarten for four year old girls).

About the Position

This is a temporary, part time position working term time only and 4 days per week, Monday - Thursday. The role will provide support to the teacher of the Prep class.

Main Responsibilities
  • Setting up for, and assisting with, the implementation of indoor and outdoor learning programs
  • Working with individual students and groups of students to support learning as directed by the teacher
  • Assisting with student supervision and behaviour management including supervision of lunch where applicable
  • Providing assistance for teachers in delivering teaching and learning programs that engage students and promote learning
  • Using effective verbal and non-verbal communication strategies to support student understanding, engagement and achievement
  • Assisting in ensuring students' wellbeing and safety and the administering of first aid for the students
Requirements
  • A Certificate III or IV in Education Support or other relevant qualification would be an advantage
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
