Rolling Stock Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Rolling Stock Maintenance Specialist to join our dynamic team at UGL's Manufacturing & Maintenance site in Townsville.
This permanent, full-time position involves conducting maintenance, overhauls, and general workshop duties on rolling stock. You will work under the supervision of the Service Delivery Manager and be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the team.
Main Responsibilities- Perform maintenance, servicing, and overhaul work on locomotives, wagons, or passenger carriages.
- Read, interpret, and work from plans, diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Conduct assembly, disassembly, and component maintenance following best practices.
- Participate in general workshop duties and contribute to the safe, efficient operations of the team.
To be successful in this role, you should bring the following skills and experience:
- Trade qualification or equivalent in mechanical fitting.
- Proven experience working within the rail industry, especially in rolling stock.
- Solid understanding of assembly and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and component overhaul processes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Additional certifications such as Forklift, Crane, or Confined Space would be advantageous, though not essential.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
