The role of a Facilities Maintenance Assistant is to maintain the cleanliness and organization of facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for staff, students, and visitors. This includes performing various cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting, as well as maintaining equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain floors, carpets, and other surfaces to ensure cleanliness and safety
  • Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, and other fixtures
  • Dust and polish furniture and fittings
  • Operate and maintain equipment and machinery, such as vacuum cleaners and pressure washers
  • Perform tasks such as stripping and sealing vinyl floors, shampooing carpets, and pressure cleaning verandas

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and possess a strong attention to detail. They will also be physically fit and able to perform tasks that require lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
