Tax Manager

BDO's Expat & Employment Tax team provides specialist expatriate and Australian employment tax consulting and compliance services to a wide range of clients and industries - from multinational corporations to individual assignees.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality work across all employment tax matters, including fringe benefits tax (FBT), superannuation guarantee, Pay-As-You-Go Withholding, payroll tax, and WorkCover.
- Prepare complex advice and review compliance items, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Manage due diligence reviews, including preparation of reports, to ensure seamless delivery of services.
- Provide feedback and coaching to staff, promoting professional growth and development.
- Support team and client technical training, enhancing knowledge and expertise.
- Develop new opportunities through professional associations and networking, driving business growth.
- Contribute to tenders and win new work, expanding BDO's client base.
- Manage client relationships, fostering strong partnerships and delivering exceptional service.
- Effectively manage workflow and teams, ensuring efficient billing, budgets, and productivity.
- Professional qualifications: CA/CPA (or overseas equivalent) or legal qualifications.
- Taxation expertise: CTA, Master of Taxation (or overseas equivalent).
- Industry experience: At least 5 years' experience in a similar role (preferably in professional services).
- Technical skills: Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite: Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook.
- Leadership skills: Strong commitment to quality service and client relationships.
- Commercial awareness: Excellent understanding of taxation and legal issues and the commercial environment.
- Client focus: Excellent client relationship focus both internally and externally.
- Leadership ability: Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively to achieve a positive outcome.
- Proactivity: Able to display drive and initiative through proactive behavior.
