Lead Process Engineer Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Process Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process design, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing process design through engineering phases from concept/select, FEED through to detailed design and delivery. They will also provide technical guidance to junior engineers and source new clients to promote our Process offering.

  • Provide expertise and manage process design through engineering phases from concept/select, FEED through to detailed design and delivery.
  • Proactively communicate with Project Managers and Team Members to ensure Projects are delivered within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Manage and track single-discipline projects.
  • Write technical reports as required.
  • Prepare proposals and tenders (hours estimation and scope definition) for new and ongoing works.
  • Provide technical guidance to develop junior engineers.
  • Source new clients and leverage existing relationships to promote the Process offering and drive opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Process Engineering degree (or equivalent) with 15+ years process design experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • CPEng or CEng/RPEQ registration.
  • Excellent skills in using Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, UniSim, and DNV PHAST software packages.
  • Sound knowledge of process safety including risk identification and assessment through HAZID/HAZOP, dispersion/radiation analysis, and hazardous area classification.
  • Skills in preparing PFD's, P&ID's, heat and material balances, instruments and equipment data sheets, utilities flow diagrams, and chemical consumption/effluent summaries.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Ability and experience in providing technical support through the full lifecycle of the projects, ranging from feasibility and concept select studies through to FEED, detailed design, and commissioning.
  • Ability to be hands on, flexible and work autonomously on multiple projects.
  • A confident communicator and team player with the ability to drive projects and clients' success.
  • Highly skilled in mentoring Junior Engineers and building a positive working environment.
  • Skills in tackling conflicting deadlines and managing them by prioritization.
  • HAZOP / LOPA Facilitator experience and accreditation desirable, but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with relevant Australian and International Standards.
  • A mix of consulting and operational experience would be an advantage.
