About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Performance Engineer to join our team at Qantas Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing software to analyze Aircraft Performance Monitoring (APM) data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement software to analyze APM data and monitor performance trends.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver optimized performance outcomes, prioritizing environmental and sustainability considerations.
  • Conduct technical evaluation studies for current and future aircraft types, working closely with aircraft and engine manufacturers.
  • Develop tools to enhance productivity and communicate complex algorithms to fellow engineers and software developers.
Requirements
  • Professional Engineering tertiary qualification, with Aeronautical Engineering qualification highly regarded.
  • Strong interest and skillset in software development, with experience in Java, JavaScript, C#, Python, or Go highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of airline operations, aircraft performance, and navigation.
  • Basic knowledge of optimization techniques and algorithms, with an interest in Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
