Maintenance Fitter Position
We are seeking an experienced maintenance professional to join our team in Cairns, Queensland. As a Maintenance Fitter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our machinery and equipment.
Below are some of the key responsibilities associated with this role:
  • Examine faulty machinery and perform necessary repairs to ensure it is returned to operational condition.
  • Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with all relevant health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Use hand tools to assemble parts with mechanical expertise, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Diagnose faults, resolve maintenance issues, and minimize production impact through effective problem-solving skills.
Requirements for the Role
  • A minimum of a Mechanical Fitting Trade qualification, obtained from a recognized institution or organization.
  • Strong knowledge of welding fabrication standards and experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, machining, and robotics would be highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in using Excel and Outlook to manage maintenance tasks and communicate with contractors is essential.
  • Demonstrated sound mechanical aptitude, excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, and strong time management, administration, and organizational skills are also required.
  • The ability to read and understand schematic drawings, plans, and specifications, as well as adapt to changing priorities and environments, is crucial for success in this role.
