Coulson Aviation Australia is a subsidiary of global aerial firefighting company and supports Australian States and Emergency Service Organizations with the provision of aircraft and experienced team members. The organization operates across the world with a fleet of large aerial firefighting assets consisting of both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft.
The fleet comprises Boeing 737 FIRELINERS, Hercules C130, Citation and King Air fire support platforms, CH47D Chinooks, UH60 Blackhawks and Bell 412 helicopters, providing rapid response capabilities using aviation assets.
The teams perform aerial firefighting missions, transport flights, intelligence and scanning missions, disaster mitigation, search and rescue operations, and related activities.
We are currently recruiting a Procurement Specialist to be part of the team. This position will support Richmond and Bankstown, NSW operations by executing purchases locally and internationally, as required.
The role entails sourcing and purchasing high-quality products, ensuring timely availability and cost-effectiveness. Building good relationships with suppliers is also crucial, keeping them informed of our needs and expectations, and addressing any issues promptly.
Responsibilities include following up with vendors, suppliers, transportation service providers, and customs brokers to ensure all shipments are expedited as expected. Upon delivery, inspect purchased products to ensure the correct item was received, in proper order, and report any issues.
The Procurement Specialist will continuously seek to improve procurement processes and inventory flow. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements for this role include:
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Purchaser or Buyer
- Aviation experience is preferred
- Effective communication skills
- Good judgment and ability to make sound decisions
- A Red ASIC card and/or RAAF passes are required
