Senior Environmental Approvals Specialist Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Approvals Specialist to join our team in Brisbane. As part of the continued growth of our services in the energy and resources sectors, this is an excellent opportunity for professional consultants looking to advance their career with a global leader.
Responsibilities:
- Leading and/or supporting a wide variety of environmental approvals for the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors.
- Collaborating with other practitioners to execute projects, participating on teams composed of multi-disciplinary professionals from multiple offices around the world.
- Developing skills including technical skills, project experience, and general consulting and decision-making skills.
- Contributing to proposal development, including development of technical scopes and cost estimates in accordance with our policies and processes.
- Directing and monitoring project management activities related to projects, including task delegation and direction, subcontractor management, health & safety protocol management, monitoring of commercial performance, quality review of deliverables, and interaction with clients.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental planning or science, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of relevant infrastructure and/or energy industry experience, including environmental approvals/permitting and/or management. Consulting industry experience is highly desirable.
- Experience with and an understanding of the environmental/planning approvals process applicable to QLD projects, therefore a working knowledge of the Planning Act, Vegetation Management Act, Nature Conservation Act, and the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act, as well as affiliated regulator guidance.
- Experience in managing approvals for infrastructure projects, with experience in the renewables sector being desirable.
- Strong knowledge of project management and experience working as part of an integrated team.
- Critical thinking skills – able to synthesize large amounts of data into meaningful outcomes.
- Excellent report writing, data collation, and management/presentation skills.
- Motivated to proactively contribute to a team environment, share knowledge, skills, and ideas.
