Software Developer for Research Projects

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to support the development, maintenance, and optimisation of web-based database management systems using the .NET platform.

  • Collaborate with researchers and statisticians to deliver fit-for-purpose systems that enable secure, efficient, and accurate data capture, management, and reporting.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary Qualification: An appropriate tertiary qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Programming Experience: Strong knowledge and experience in .NET (4.0 and Core) Web development with HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, and Bootstrap.
  • Database Management: Solid knowledge and experience in SQL/Relational databases - Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Version Control: Working experience using Azure DevOps and GIT.
  • Knowledge of RPMS: Knowledge of and experience using the RPMS is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, Build, and Maintain Systems: Design, build, and maintain SQL databases and web applications to support Orygen's research projects.
  • System Usability and Accessibility: Ensure front-end interfaces meet functional, usability, and responsive design standards across devices and platforms.
  • Data Quality and Integrity: Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data issues while ensuring accuracy, security, and compliance with research requirements.
  • Research and Analysis Support: Prepare datasets, generate reports, and contribute to data analysis and visualisation in collaboration with researchers and statisticians.
  • Collaboration and Organisational Contribution: Engage with staff, students, and partners, foster positive relationships, and actively participate in team and organisational initiatives.
