Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting Teachers and Students
    • Assist teachers in planning and implementing student routines and educational programs.
    • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and students to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment.
  • Providing Routine Support
    • Provide basic physical care and wellbeing support for students, including toileting, meals, and lifting.
    • Communicate with students to support their comprehension of basic tasks and information.
  • Addressing Student Needs
    • Address immediate behavioural presentations related to specific students within a classroom setting, aligned to school policy and procedure.
    • Provide basic support and supervision for individuals or groups of up to 4 students within a classroom setting.
  • Collaborating with the Team
    • Support teachers in the coordination of educational programs, including rostering and organizing the work of a team of aides.
    • Liaise with external providers of support services about clearly defined support needs and resources.
  • Medical Intervention Support
    • Provide medical intervention support to students, under specific conditions, with appropriate training and guidance.
Requirements
  • Aptitude, experience, and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with teachers, parents, and students.
  • Capacity to provide routine support and address student needs in a dynamic learning environment.
Working Conditions

This Education Support Class position is ongoing, subject to the provision of at least 12 weeks' notice. The successful applicant will be required to work in a dynamic learning environment, supporting the educational services provided to students.

Location

The school is located in a multicultural community, with a strong focus on providing a personalized education for every child. The school has a diverse student population, with 30% of students born overseas.
