The Role of Operational Risk Head is a key appointment within the organization's risk leadership team. As a senior leader, you will report directly to the Chief Risk Officer and also be accountable to the global head of non-financial risk.

As the operational risk lead, you will oversee the second line of defense in Sydney, responsible for developing and managing the non-financial risk framework and associated policies and procedures. This critical role will enhance the risk culture across the organization by advocating best practices and coordinating with first-line colleagues to drive implementation.

Key responsibilities include navigating regulatory reviews, transformations, and ensuring the productivity of the risk team remains high. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing risk transformations and possess a strong background in IT risk and global environment exposure.

  • Oversight of non-financial risk management and its associated frameworks across the business
  • Providing training and knowledge sharing on various non-financial risk topics
  • Assisting the chair of the risk and compliance committee in maintaining and overseeing the committee, including its secretariat function, jointly with other risk management leaders
  • Supporting the CRO in the management of Connexa, the governance, risk, and compliance system
  • Developing and owning the NFR plan that aligns with organizational goals and regulatory obligations
  • Leading, recruiting, and developing talent within the NFR team to ensure it is future-fit and continuously improving
