Furniture delivery drivers are in high demand due to the growing e-commerce industry and increasing online shopping habits. We are seeking an experienced and self-driven professional to join our team as a Furniture Delivery Driver/Installer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport specialised freight locally using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and trucks.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment by optimising space utilisation and adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Assemble flat-pack furniture efficiently in the warehouse while maintaining workplace cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Wrap assembled products in protective materials to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Unload incoming furniture trucks using material handling equipment and load transactional furniture orders onto trucks for delivery to customers.
  • Complete furniture assembly/installation according to specifications to meet customer satisfaction and inspect furniture for proper operability according to manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Maintain a two-day turn-around on all furniture repair service calls, completing required paperwork accurately and efficiently.
  • Interact daily with customers, division staff, and operations management to build effective relationships and ensure seamless communication.
  • Maintain vehicle interior and exterior cleanliness, delivering to customers in a timely, friendly manner, ensuring efficiency and satisfaction.
  • Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule, operating forklifts safely and effectively.
  • Deliver to route customers based in the Sydney area, building strong customer relationships through excellent communication skills and a warm personality.
  • Unload and set up equipment, including heavy lifting, and complete daily run sheets accurately and efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Warehouse experience is preferred but not essential, as we provide comprehensive training.
  • A valid forklift license is mandatory, and a good driving record is also required.
  • Excellent time management skills and good communication skills are essential for this role, as well as computer skills and the ability to prioritise jobs efficiently.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be well-organised, and have sound knowledge of Melbourne Metro and surrounding suburbs, including best routes and times to travel.

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, with frequent exposure to heavy machinery and physical activity. A forklift license is mandatory, and a good understanding of warehouse operations and procedures is essential.
