This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Peer Worker, providing psychosocial support to young people who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health issues, with or without alcohol and other drug use.
You'll work closely with our YPSP Youth Worker to deliver individualised packages of support, using your lived experience and expertise to empower young people to reach their full potential.
About You:
- Lived experience of recovery from mental health issues and/or alcohol and other drug use
- Experience in delivering peer work, youth work or another support role in a community services setting
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of how to use your lived experience appropriately in a professional capacity
- Ability to deliver peer support through practical and emotional support which may include the development of independent living skills, opportunities to improve social and community participation, learning, volunteering and employment
Requirements:
- Cert IV in Mental Health Peer Work - highly desirable
- Current National Police Clearance
- WA Working with Children Check
- WA Drivers Licence
- Reliable and safe vehicle for travel across Perth metro
