Empowering Educators to Drive Student Growth

A rare opportunity exists for a dedicated professional to lead the development and implementation of whole-school wellbeing approaches. As a Leading Teacher of Wellbeing, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the school's proactive, student-centred wellbeing framework from the ground up.

You will collaborate with staff to build confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of identity in students. Building strong partnerships with families, external services, and the community is also key to this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the implementation of whole-school improvement initiatives related to the school's strategic plan and priorities
  • Develop and implement high-impact teaching strategies that respond to student learning needs
  • Support teachers to evaluate the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth
  • Monitor and assess student learning at a class, cohort, or whole-school level and use this data to lead improvement initiatives
  • Support others in using data to inform teaching practice and provide feedback on student learning growth and achievement to students and parents
  • Contribute to the overall leadership and management of the school

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum
  2. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage the implementation of school priorities and the teaching of personal and social capabilities across the curriculum
  3. Demonstrated ability to lead the planning and implementation of high-impact teaching strategies that respond to student learning needs
  4. Demonstrated ability to monitor and assess student learning at a class, cohort, or whole-school level and use this data to lead improvement initiatives
  5. Demonstrated exemplary interpersonal and leadership skills
  6. Demonstrated ability to model behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values and support colleagues to adopt these behaviours and attitudes

Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position are encouraged to apply.
