Job Description

Our organization is seeking a dedicated and caring individual to fill the role of Direct Support Worker. This position involves providing support on matters of personal care, administering medications, and assisting with mobility and domestic duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support on matters of personal care, including showering, toileting, dressing and more
  • Administer medications as required
  • Transfer individuals using hoists and slide sheets, and assist with mobility
  • Perform domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry or meal preparation
  • Engage in community activities such as attending doctors appointments, grocery shopping or other social or recreational activities of choice

This role requires the ability to work flexible hours on a roster system, with a focus on providing exceptional service to clients. The ideal candidate will be a great communicator, able to work autonomously and within a team environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Able to provide personal care with dignity and sensitivity
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to work autonomously, as well as under direction and within a team environment
  • Capacity to maintain professional boundaries in all situations
  • Belief in an inclusive society and value for client focus, respect, inclusion, integrity, excellence, and courage
