About the Role:

RDO Equipment Australia is expanding, and we are seeking a dedicated Payroll Officer to enhance our payroll operations.

The Payroll Officer will be responsible for executing the payroll process and associated duties, ensuring that precise payroll services are delivered to the organization. This role encompasses comprehensive payroll management, addressing employee inquiries, and upholding the integrity of the payroll system. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive payroll support and solutions, ensuring the accuracy of all data entered and generated by the payroll system.
  • Conduct data entry and payroll processing on a bi-weekly basis, ensuring correct allocation of wages to respective cost centers.
  • Generate and distribute various reports as required.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate completion of bi-weekly Electronic Funds Transfers.
  • Manage the onboarding of new employees and the processing of terminations.
  • Handle superannuation contributions and payroll tax obligations.
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end processing in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to provide necessary reports, ensuring accurate capture of all Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) information.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Awards and Employment Law for employee compensation.
  • Verify that employee changes are consistent with their employment agreements.
  • Conduct audits of employee leave entitlements and hourly rates in line with legal frameworks.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding employee information.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in managing payroll functions, with a solid understanding of superannuation compliance and payroll tax.
  • Desirable knowledge of HR practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient computer skills.
