Physical Education Teacher

About the Role:
Tradewind Australia is collaborating with an F-9 school in Tarneit to offer a full-time, ongoing Physical Education position starting in Term 1. This opportunity allows you to guide students in Primary or Secondary only, or a combination of both, and work within a supportive PE faculty team in a growing school dedicated to student learning and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design engaging and developmentally appropriate PE lessons that align with the Victorian Curriculum in Primary/Secondary.
- Provide clear instruction and demonstration of movement skills, sports techniques, and fitness exercises.
- Teach a range of topics related to physical education, including health and well-being, nutrition, mental health, and personal development.
- Conduct physical fitness assessments to evaluate students' strength, flexibility, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness levels.
- Provide guidance and constructive feedback to help students improve their individual and team-based skills.
- Instil values of sportsmanship, fair play, and teamwork through organized sports and group activities.
- Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment by implementing appropriate safety procedures and risk management strategies during physical activities and sports.
- Organize and maintain PE equipment, sports gear, and facilities to ensure they are safe, functional, and accessible for students.
- Assess students' progress and achievement in PE through various forms of assessment, such as skill demonstrations, performance tasks, fitness tests, and written assignments.
Requirements:
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia.
- Valid VIT registration.
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching PE in Australia.
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years.
