About the Role

Centurion Transport is seeking a skilled forklift operator to join our Operations as a permanent full-time Freight Officer. In this pivotal role, you'll ensure the efficient handling and receipt of freight, including loading, unloading, and securing general cargo.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating various sized counterbalance forklifts (2.5T, 7T and 16T)
  • Processing various types of general freight from beginning to end (palletised, ugly and oversize)
  • Secure and restrain all loads as per the load restraint guide, with straps and chains
  • Ensuring all scanning is accurate and complete for freight in the received, loaded, staged and unloaded functions
  • Preparation of outgoing freight ensuring that goods are secured and packed correctly for dispatch
  • Guaranteeing freight is loaded in time to meet scheduled vehicle departure times

Requirements

  • Current Forklift Licence (LF)
  • Experience with general ugly/oversize freight and restraining loads
  • Ability to take direction from management and supervisors
  • Preferred scanning experience
  • Customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, and RIPPA values
