About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supply Chain Operations Manager to join our Operational Supply Chain team at IPL. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of professionals and drive the delivery of exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the IPL Supply Team: Provide day-to-day accountability and ensure the smooth operation of the supply chain function, including 7-day supply chain support.
- Inventory Management: Reconcile site inbound performance, investigate and resolve instances of lost stock or unplanned shortages.
- Team Development: Manage, coach, and develop the Advisors – Supply Chain job role, focusing on technical skills and behavior.
- Collaboration: Work with the Asda CI and supply teams to implement and measure cost-saving initiatives.
- KPI Development: Implement, develop, and deliver the IPL Supply Team KPIs.
- Risk Management: Manage the escalation of any risks to delivery of products ordered under an IPL PO, including IPL sites, 3rd party suppliers, and European direct deliveries.
- Logistics Management: Manage daily relationships with 3rd party logistics providers and Asda logistics services, including deliveries into Asda depots and returnable assets.
- Customer Service: Be the escalation point for Asda depots for any deliveries in breach of the Asda delivery guidelines, taking steps to resolve issues.
- System Management: Accountable for the upkeep of the IPL Ordering systems and processes for all business areas, ensuring they are operational and fit for purpose.
- Claims Management: Manage, administer, report, and develop the IPL Case and pallet claims procedures.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong working relationships with the Asda Supply, Logistics, and depot teams.
- Pallet Forecasting: Provide an outloading pallet forecast for all IPL sites.
- Retail Link Management: Manage the IPL Retail link account, internal and external business areas.
- Returns Management: Manage the daily IPL returns process and monitor the financial costs associated.
Requirements:
- Supply Chain Management Degree: A degree in supply chain management or a related field is desirable but not essential.
- Technical Skills: Excellent Excel and MS Office experience.
- Leadership Skills: Credible leadership skills that demonstrate the ability to motivate colleagues.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work with junior staff, external clients, regulators, suppliers, and management peers.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to organize others.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail.
- Flexibility: Flexible approach, demonstrating the ability to multitask.
- Influencing Skills: Strong influencing skills.
- Knowledge of Accreditation Standards: Good working knowledge of all accreditation standards and relevant legislation.
- Pressure Management: Ability to work under pressure.
