About the Role

Mercy Community Services is seeking a passionate Professional Family Support Specialist to join our Connected Families Team in Ipswich.

This permanent full-time role involves delivering high-quality services to children, young people, families, and the community within the Connected Families Service. The ideal candidate will provide support and case management for highly vulnerable families while adhering to service guidelines and frameworks.

Salary: $85,126 - $91,588 per annum (SCHADS L4) plus superannuation and generous salary packaging available.

Job Description
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to assist clients in achieving their goals as identified in relevant planning documentation.
  • Collaborate with line managers to identify client needs and deliver appropriate services within available resources, ensuring effective assessment and response to changing dynamics.
  • Build trusting relationships with clients and stakeholders while promoting dignity and self-determination at all stages of family engagement.
  • Provide opportunities for life and personal skill development for clients through role modeling expected behaviors.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree in Social Work, Social Science, Psychology, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Sound knowledge of the Queensland Child Protection system.
  • Demonstrated intermediate ability to use computer IT systems, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver's Licence.
  • Ability to obtain a positive notice in the legislatively required personal history check.
  • Evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
