Job Opportunity

The Faculty of Engineering is seeking a 3D Technology Integration Specialist to collaborate with various engineering schools and the makerspace network.

This role entails providing 3D services such as printing, scanning, and modeling, exploring novel additive manufacturing technologies for UNSW students and academics, and reviewing and advising on suitable 3D technologies for learning and research outcomes.

The successful candidate will also guide the design and creation of physical prototypes from virtual designs, consult with stakeholders across UNSW to develop a campus-wide strategy for 3D printing services, and report to the Makerspace Manager.

Requirements
  • A degree in engineering or equivalent competence gained through education, training, and experience.
  • Sound knowledge and skills in CAD, 3D printer operation, reverse engineering using 3D scanners, and typical makerspace equipment.
  • Demonstrated time management, organisational, and problem-solving skills, including meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to make sound judgments and work independently and as part of a team.
  • An understanding of and commitment to our aims, objectives, and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health & safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
