About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Prosthetist/Orthotist to join our team at The Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association Ltd. (AOPA). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality prosthetic and orthotic services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and direction for the service, ensuring patient-centered care is prioritized in clinical, supervisory, and team activities.
  • Initiate, implement, and actively participate in quality improvement projects and activities in consultation with the Director and senior clinical staff.
  • Utilize experience in clinical leadership to contribute to service development, evaluation, and quality improvement activities.
  • Exhibit full competency in technical processes, overseeing and training AHP2, AHP1, technicians, and students.
  • Manage a complex and varied clinical caseload of O&P inpatients and outpatients, including technical work as required.
  • Form part of the department leadership team, supporting the AHP3 colleague and Director in all areas of operational management and service delivery.
  • Contribute to strategy, planning, education, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • The successful applicant must have experience working with third-party funding bodies such as NDIS, Lifetime Support, and Workcover.
Requirements
  • Master of Clinical Prosthetics & Orthotics or Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics or equivalent.
  • Membership or evidence of eligibility for membership to AOPA.
  • Proven expertise in O&P service delivery and treatment.
  • Experience in clinical leadership within a discrete unit, including service development, evaluation, and quality improvement activities.
  • Full competency in technical processes, with the ability to oversee and train others.
  • Demonstrated experience in all aspects of service delivery relating to O&P, clinical exposure equivalent to at least 8 years of experience.
  • Ability to analyze issues from all perspectives and make sound conclusions from the available information, with ability to identify and propose workable and sustainable solutions.
  • Current driver's license.
