As a nursery horticulturist, you will be responsible for promoting healthy growth and appearance of plants in a wholesale production nursery.
- Potting: Planting seedlings or cuttings into pots to encourage vigorous growth.
- Weeding: Removing weeds and unwanted vegetation from nursery beds and containers to ensure optimal growing conditions.
- Pruning: Trimming and shaping plants to maintain their appearance and promote healthy development.
You will also be required to stake, label, and present plants to a high standard for retail sale. This is an opportunity to develop your skills in plant care and horticulture.
RequirementsTo succeed in this role, you will need:
- A genuine interest in plants and horticulture.
- Strength and fitness, as this is a physically demanding job that requires manual labor.
- The ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and precipitation.
