About the Role

As a nursery horticulturist, you will be responsible for promoting healthy growth and appearance of plants in a wholesale production nursery.

  • Potting: Planting seedlings or cuttings into pots to encourage vigorous growth.
  • Weeding: Removing weeds and unwanted vegetation from nursery beds and containers to ensure optimal growing conditions.
  • Pruning: Trimming and shaping plants to maintain their appearance and promote healthy development.

You will also be required to stake, label, and present plants to a high standard for retail sale. This is an opportunity to develop your skills in plant care and horticulture.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A genuine interest in plants and horticulture.
  • Strength and fitness, as this is a physically demanding job that requires manual labor.
  • The ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and precipitation.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Punctuality, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
