About the Role

The Australian Research Council (ARC) is a leading Commonwealth entity within the Australian Government, established under the Australian Research Council Act 2001. As a strategic and empowering leader, the Chief Executive Officer will drive the next stage of the organisation's development, working closely with the ARC Board to transform the agency in response to government policies and sector expectations.

The ideal candidate will be a visionary thinker, with strong business acumen, able to harness diverse interests and deliver outcomes at scale. You will demonstrate broad senior executive leadership experience gained in a knowledge-intensive setting, with a proven track record of building collaborative partnerships with various stakeholders, including Government, academia, and industry.

Key responsibilities will include championing the impact of Australian publicly funded research, advocating for the ARC's role in the Australian research ecosystem, and navigating the nuances of Government, academia, and industry. You will be an inclusive leader who drives a culture of high performance and achievement amongst your team.
