Year 5 Classroom Teacher

Position: A key role in our school's academic and pastoral care teams, teaching students in Year 5.

Duration: Fixed Term | Academic year 2025

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a positive and inclusive learning environment that caters for the diverse needs of students.
  • Develop, implement, and review curriculum programs to ensure student engagement and academic progress.
  • Assess student learning, provide constructive feedback, and report on progress to parents and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance professional development, share best practices, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning to stay updated on pedagogical approaches, technologies, and curriculum developments.
  • Embed Catholic values and teachings into daily lessons, promoting spiritual growth and development in students.

About You:

  • Bring relevant teaching qualifications, experience, and passion for delivering high-quality education.
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy skills, with a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum.
  • A commitment to child safety and well-being.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • A willingness to engage with colleagues, students, and parents to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across knowledge, practice, and engagement.

Requirements:

  • Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration.
  • Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
  • A commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
