Job Title:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Music Educator to join our educational community. The successful applicant will be committed to developing the gift of music in every child, with a particular emphasis on musical development.

  • Generate a positive, enthusiastic and engaged learning culture that strengthens students' wellbeing and develops students' appreciation of music
  • Provide quality music education to students from Kindergarten to Year 6
  • Hold a Bachelor of Education/Music degree or equivalent, ideally including certification in the Kodály method
  • Have a high level of musicianship, especially to conduct music ensembles and participate in school productions
  • Contribute to the cultural life of the school community through music
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication with students, parents and staff

This is an exciting and challenging position for someone who is a passionate Music Educator, adopts a relational approach to their teaching, with demonstrated experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and deliver engaging and meaningful music lessons to students from Kindergarten to Year 6
  2. Conduct music ensembles and participate in school productions
  3. Develop and implement curriculum-aligned music programs that cater to diverse student needs
  4. Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular feedback to parents and staff
  5. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide music initiatives

Requirements:

  • Strong passion for music education and commitment to personal values
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • High level of musicianship and performance skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or certifications in music education
