Litigation Associate

About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to establish credentials and expertise in a developing area of law. As a Lawyer/Associate, you will work closely with our experienced lawyers to meet with clients, take instructions, review records, draft written communications, brief medical experts and attend court for procedural hearings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meeting with clients, taking instructions and reviewing records
- Drafting written communications to clients and briefing medical experts
- Briefing barristers, attending court for procedural hearings and drafting court documents
- Liaising with allied health professionals and working independently as part of a team
The Experience We Are Looking For
We are looking for a lawyer with strong client service focus, personable approach and commitment to social justice. You will ideally have 3+ years PAE however if you have a strong desire to forge a career within this space we want to hear from you.
In addition, you will have:
- A valid practising certificate;
- Prior experience working within a Personal injury, Medical Negligence or Litigation environment;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships and trust;
- An ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Excellent organisational skills, with high attention to detail;
- Excellent time management skills, and commitment to drive matters to resolution in a timely manner;
- A strong knowledge of the relevant procedural rules relevant to personal injury practice in Victoria;
- The ability to speak to clients from different backgrounds;
- A solutions focused outlook with a proactive approach to deliver quality outcomes.
