Healthcare Assistant

Nursing assistants play a vital role in supporting healthcare teams by providing high-quality patient care.
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds. They will also possess excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
In this role, you will work under the supervision of a registered nurse to provide personalized care to patients, including:
- Carrying out social activities with patients to promote emotional well-being;
- Supporting patients with psychosocial interventions, such as grounding techniques and self-harm alternatives;
- Leading on physical health interventions, including phlebotomy, wound care, and ECG monitoring;
- Practicing and maintaining infection control measures;
- Assisting with personal care, such as showering, dressing, grooming, and medication administration;
- Providing domestic assistance, including light housework, laundry, and meal preparation;
- Supporting clients who use personal equipment or aids, such as walking or standing frames, wheelchairs, and hoists.
You will also be required to monitor patient well-being and report on progress to the healthcare team.
