The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in occupational health and safety, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role. A tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing comprehensive safety strategies that align with industry standards.
- Conducting regular site inspections and safety audits to identify areas for improvement.
- Providing safety training and education to staff and subcontractors to promote a culture of safety.
- Investigating incidents and near-misses, compiling reports, and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintaining knowledge of safety legislation and ensuring compliance with industry requirements.
- Tracking safety performance metrics and preparing reports for senior management.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to integrate safety into every project phase.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a safety management role within the construction industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Queensland and Australian workplace safety legislation and standards.
- A proven track record in developing and implementing successful safety programmes.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
