Health Educator - Prison Service

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Health Educator to lead the implementation of our innovative Hepatitis Education Program across six Western Australian Prisons.


This pivotal role will directly support the successful delivery of hepatitis education and prevention initiatives, ensuring the public health literacy of prison staff and inmates. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and facilitation skills, with experience in producing clear, concise written communication and leading workshops to engage diverse audiences.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with stakeholders from Government Departments and Western Australian Prisons to coordinate project logistics.
  • Lead and facilitate the delivery of the Hepatitis Education Program to Health Service staff, Correctional Officers, and people in prison.
  • Collaborate with the project team and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Conduct surveys and evaluations with target audience members.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Nursing, Health Education, Public Health or similar are essential.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, supported by strong verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in producing clear, concise, and well-structured written communication, including contributing to and preparing high-quality project reports.
  • Strong facilitation skills, with proven experience in delivering health education sessions and effectively leading workshops.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, prioritizing workload, meeting project deadlines, and working independently to achieve outcomes.
