The headspace Clinical Educator plays a critical role in supporting the coordination, development, and delivery of student placement programs at our Bankstown location.

This dynamic role will provide direct clinical supervision and/or field supervision to student graduates, as well as task supervision, mentorship, and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the development of student placement opportunities at headspace, facilitating excellence in integrated holistic healthcare.
  • Deliver direct clinical supervision to students, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Support the onboarding, induction, and field supervision of students, ensuring a seamless transition into their roles.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with universities, fostering partnerships that promote mutual understanding and respect.
  • Liaise with internal and external services to provide holistic support to young people, addressing their complex needs and promoting overall wellbeing.

Selection Criteria:

  • Possession of tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or Mental Health Nursing.
  • At least 3 years clinical experience post-qualification and experience or eligibility to provide clinical supervision.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body (including AHPRA, AASW) as a registered or endorsed Psychologist, accredited Social Worker, Mental Health Nurse; and eligibility to register with Medicare Australia as an MBS Primary Care provider or an Allied Mental Health Professional provider.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake assessment and initial screening activities to determine individual care needs, provide counselling, produce assessment reports, and assist young people to access necessary services.
  • Able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of recovery-focused practice.
  • Have a clear understanding and/or knowledge of the concept and impact of mental health issues in the community.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence

Benefits:

  • $85,000 - $97,000 per annum, commensurate with experience + 11.5% Super + Salary Packaging up to $15,900 tax-free.
  • Generous leave provisions including 17.5% annual leave loading + 2 additional days of Personal Leave + Christmas/New Years Gratis Day + 10 weeks paid parental leave.
  • Flexibility to negotiate working days, Monday to Friday.
