Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at LER (SG) Ltd. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities by performing electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance: Undertake day-to-day electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair of all machinery, plant, equipment, and facilities.
  2. Liaison and Support: Liaise with the Engineering Manager, Shift Managers, and other shift staff to provide electrical and mechanical maintenance support on shift.
  3. Fault Diagnosis and Repair: Undertake electrical and mechanical fault diagnosis and repair on plant and machinery.
  4. Materials and Parts Management: Identify and report on materials and parts required to overcome breakdowns and repairs.
  5. Breakdown Resolution: Break down resolution, repairs, and improvements to all machinery and processes.
  6. Control Systems: Use multi-test equipment to identify and rectify faults within control systems.
  7. Record Keeping: Record detailed and accurate repairs information relating to repair inspections or completed repair jobs.
  8. Parts Procurement: Ensure parts required to repair machines are ordered through the relevant process in a timely fashion.
  9. Quality and Safety: Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standard and ensure compliance with the Company's Health and Safety Policy.
  10. Good Working Practices: Observe and comply with all good working practices and embrace the company team ethic of success.
  11. Shift Handover: Complete an end-of-shift report detailing work undertaken in the shift and provide shift handover information for the oncoming shift and for the engineering department.
  12. Training and Development: Undertake training, as necessary, to maintain high standards in the quality of work provided.
  13. Additional Responsibilities: Any other duties as required by line management, commensurate with the post holder's level of training and competence.

Candidate Requirements:

We are looking for a highly skilled Maintenance Technician with the following qualifications and experience:

  1. Engineering Background: The ideal candidate must come from the engineering industry as a Maintenance Technician.
  2. Electrical Qualifications: Ideally hold an electrical qualification such as C&G, HNC, HND, or similar.
  3. Wiring Regulations: Ideally hold 17th/18th edition in wiring regulations.
  4. Manufacturing Experience: Experience gained in a manufacturing environment is essential.
  5. Pneumatics Fault Finding: Pneumatics fault finding is essential.
  6. Complex Electrical Drawings: Interpretation of complex electrical drawings is essential.

Desirable Skills:

We are looking for candidates with experience in the following modern control systems:

  1. PLCs Fault Finding: PLCs fault finding.
  2. Drives and Controls: Drives and controls.
  3. Encoders, Sensors, and Feedback Systems: Encoders, sensors, and feedback systems.
  4. CNC Machine Controls: CNC machine controls.
  5. Electrical and Electronics Circuits: Modifications to electrical and electronics circuits.
  6. Drives and Configuration: Retrofitting of drives and configuring parameters.
  7. Installation Projects: Some experience of installation projects.
