Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance and Governance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive risk management framework, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring that the organisation meets its governance, audit, and compliance obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a new risk register and align it with KPMG's draft register.
  • Implement and monitor a new risk management framework and internal audit plan.
  • Develop policies and procedures related to internal auditing and risk management.
  • Provide expert advice on governance, risk, and compliance matters across the organisation.
  • Support the Audit and Risk Committee with reporting and guidance.
  • Lead the development of the agency's Risk Appetite Statement and Risk Strategy.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Risk Management or a related field, or substantial relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in risk management, internal audit, and governance functions within a complex legislative environment.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, including data gathering, analysis, and presenting recommendations.
  • Experience supporting committees and reporting to senior management.
