About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tunnel Design Lead to join our team in a senior capacity. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design of complex tunneling projects, providing technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers, and developing and implementing innovative solutions to improve project delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geotechnical engineering, with experience in designing and managing tunneling projects from conceptualization to completion. They will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced engineer to take on a challenging role and contribute to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of complex tunneling projects, including feasibility studies, concept designs, and detailed designs.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers, ensuring that designs meet client requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to improve project delivery, including the use of new technologies and construction methods.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including geotechnical, civil, and structural engineers, to ensure that designs are integrated and aligned with overall project objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including designs, calculations, and correspondence with clients and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in tunnel design and management, preferably in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex tunneling projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and practices, including rock mechanics, soil mechanics, and groundwater flow.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
