We are seeking a seasoned and accomplished insurance specialist to join our market-leading commercial litigation team in Melbourne.

This role provides the successful candidate with the opportunity to:

The Role

As part of our renowned policyholder's insurance practice within the commercial litigation team, we have an exciting opportunity for an expert senior associate to join our Melbourne team on a permanent basis. Working closely with partner Sophy Woodward, you will be part of a high-performing, supportive, and down-to-earth team, enjoying work with prominent corporate clients across various sectors.

This role involves having carriage of complex insurance disputes and advisory work for policyholder clients. You will manage client relationships, shape the strategic direction of matters, work closely with counsel, draft advices, prepare witness and expert evidence, and have carriage of final and interlocutory proceedings.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a solicitor within an insurance practice or broader commercial litigation practice but with an interest in insurance
  • Demonstrated expertise in litigious matters and management of complex insurance disputes
  • Strong academic achievements
  • Familiarity with Supreme/Federal Court litigation
  • The ability to project manage and drive matters through to completion
  • A passion for mentoring, supervising, and delegating work to more junior lawyers
  • A strong focus on delivering exceptional client service
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills required for building effective client relationships and contributing to a positive team environment

Salary & Benefits

Our salary range for this role is $140,000 - $180,000 per annum, plus superannuation and benefits.
