Fitness Instructor

Role Overview

Catholic Healthcare is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fitness Instructor to join our team as a Wellness Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our clients and contribute to our mission of promoting dignity, life, and spirituality.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement exercise programs to enrich the lives of our clients, following the Catholic Healthcare Community Services Health & Wellness Program guidelines.
• Facilitate engaging classes, including light cardiovascular, strengthening, flexibility, coordination, and balance training.
• Communicate effectively and motivate clients to live a healthy and active lifestyle, assisting them to live their best life.
• Monitor individuals throughout classes and adapt programs where necessary.
• Educate, support, and nurture participants during classes to provide a meaningful, supportive, and fun exercise environment.

Requirements

• A Certificate 3 in Fitness (or equivalent) and current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Previous experience in facilitating seniors exercise programs, particularly water exercises.
• Experience in planning, coordinating, and evaluating fitness programs.
• Flexibility to adjust and adapt exercises to suit individual participants' abilities and goals.
• Understanding of exercise principles in Falls Prevention for seniors.
• Ability to work in a values-based organization that welcomes applicants from all faiths and backgrounds.
