Ecological Fire Planning Specialist

Parks Victoria is seeking an Ecological Fire Planning Specialist to coordinate and manage the ecological fire function within the Region.
The successful candidate will work with District, Regional and Corporate staff and external partners and stakeholders to plan and deliver ecological fire projects and programs.
- Developing and implementing strategic fire ecology plans and programs
- Coordinating with Traditional Owners to facilitate cultural fire practices and enable cultural fire programs on Parks estate
- Providing fire ecology expertise to staff and stakeholders
- Oversight of the Regional ecological burning program
About Us:
The Northern Region covers a diverse range of parks and reserves, including River Red Gum, Mallee, Box-ironbark, Northern Plains Grasslands and Forest landscapes.
We're looking for someone with:
- Demonstrated experience in providing expert and technical advice in relation to ecological fire practices
- Experience / ability to engage and develop effective relationships with stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in preparing complex written information in a number of mediums to meet the needs of varying audiences
- Sound project management skills on whole projects with minimal supervision
