Job Description

A leading infrastructure contractor seeks a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join its team in Sydney. The ideal candidate will have experience in welding and fabrication procedures, interpreting drawings and working with metal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricating and welding structural steel components for major infrastructure projects.
  • Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal from stock.
  • Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines.
  • Joining metal sections using various welding techniques and bolting.
  • Examining welds for width, penetration and precision.
  • Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiseling and grinding.
Requirements
  • TIG & MIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Some experience in stainless steel and aluminum welding is an advantage.
  • Welding Certification or relevant experience.
  • Current driver's license and reliable transport.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Motivation, reliability and pride in workmanship.
  • Strong safety-focused work ethic.
  • Boilermaking experience is advantageous.
